Project description

The objective of this course work is to design an individual house, which size is 200 sq.m in the given lot. The Northern side of the lot is hedged by street and the rest sides of a lot are hedged by other lots with individual houses. The house is abutted to the Northern line.

The architectural expression of house was inspired by forms of nature. From ancient times people used trees for protection and care. To hide from the sun or rain, just come and sit peacefully for awhile and get inspiration to move on. Consequently I chose the form intimate for human being and close to forms that can be found in nature.

The house is oriented by cardinal points. Southern, West-Southern sides are the most opened and lightest and separate inter and outer areas. The northern side of the house is nearly dead wall because it has to protect the house from northern winds and the eyes of passerby. Over the edge of the lot the low-level concrete ‘flowerpot’ is situated. There the bushes will grow, in order to save the heart of home. Furthermore in the Northern side the ‘trunk’ of the tree rises and holds all the beams – ‘branches’. Under those branches two capacities are being designed. They are separated one from another by a pathway, which joins the street and the forecourt. The living rooms are designed in the first capacity and garage and boiler-room – in the other. Sitting-room, dining-room ant the kitchen are combined in one big area reaching Northern and Southern sides of the house. The bedrooms and study room are situated in the Eastern side of the house. Near the house the decorative pond, which can be seen from the dining-room’s windows, is designed. It is intended to cover the rest of the garden with various flora.
